Service · speed optimization · measured, not promised

Shopify speed optimization that tells you the truth about your score.

Speed is the most over-promised service in Shopify land. So here’s the deal in one breath: I do the work that measurably helps, I show you before-and-after numbers on the same pages, and I tell you plainly what your theme will never let you reach without deeper work — and if that deeper work is worth doing, I can scope that too.

What falls in this lane

Two tiers: the quick wins, and the deeper work

Tier one is the common quick-wins taskSpeed Optimization Quick Wins. Images compressed and lazy-loaded, dead scripts from uninstalled apps removed, render-blocking scripts deferred, font loading fixed, key assets preloaded. It attacks the accumulation that slows most stores, and it comes with a Lighthouse/PageSpeed before/after report on the same pages.

Tier two is deeper theme performance work — when the report shows the remaining weight lives in the theme’s own structure. That’s quoted as theme work with a scope-based proposal listing the specific changes. You only buy it if the numbers justify it; the quick-wins report tells you whether they do.

Out of scope for anyone, not just me: checkout speed (Shopify hosts and controls it) and guaranteed score targets. Scores depend on your theme and the apps you actually need — I guarantee the listed work and a measured improvement, not a number.

Why stores get slow

Speed isn’t lost in one place — it leaks

01

Images

Camera-resolution photos serving where a compressed, lazy-loaded version would do. Usually the single biggest win on product-heavy stores.

02

Ghost scripts

Apps you uninstalled months ago, still loading code on every page — uninstalling an app doesn’t remove what it put in your theme.

03

Loading order

Scripts and fonts blocking the first paint. Deferring, preloading, and loading fonts once — unglamorous, measurable.

All of it happens on a duplicated, unpublished theme — you preview the faster store before it goes live, and the handover note records every change. Same safety protocol as every Storemend job: work on a copy, you approve first, publishing scheduled by agreement with you, everything reversible, access removed at the end.

Describe the problem in plain English. I’ll figure out what actually needs to change, do it safely on a copy of your store first, show you before anything goes live, and fix it free if it breaks.
