Storemend

Common task · estimated 1–2 business days

The section your theme doesn’t have — built for it, editable by you.

You’ve seen the layout you want — on another store, in a screenshot, in your head. Your theme can’t do it, and the apps that fake it cost monthly and load slow. So let’s just build it into the theme.

Storemend Task № 08 / 10

Custom Theme Section Build

One Online Store 2.0 section, built to match your reference, that behaves like it shipped with the theme.

What’s included

  • One custom Online Store 2.0 section, built to a design or reference you provide — screenshot or URL
  • Fully configurable in the theme editor — text, images, colors, layout settings
  • Responsive — built mobile-first, checked on both
  • No app dependency — and one revision round included

Not included

  • Original graphic design from scratch — you bring the reference
  • Multiple sections — each is its own task, or a bundled custom quote
  • Animation-heavy or app-driven sections — custom quote

The build

What “editable in the theme editor” actually buys you

A lot of custom code is custom in the worst way: hard-coded text, hard-coded images, and a developer on retainer every time you want to change a headline. A proper Online Store 2.0 section is different — it has a settings panel, like the sections your theme shipped with. Text, images, colors, and layout options live in the editor where you already work. You drag it, reorder it, and edit it without touching code.

It also means no app dependency: nothing extra loading on every page, no monthly fee for your own layout, and the section stays yours if you cancel every app you have.

What makes a good reference

I build to match a reference you provide — a screenshot of a store you admire, a URL, a rough sketch with notes. It doesn’t need to be a polished design file; it needs to show what goes where and roughly how it should feel. I translate it into your store’s fonts, colors, and spacing so the result looks native, not pasted in.

One revision round is included: you see the preview, you give one consolidated set of change notes, I apply them. That keeps the scope honest — unlimited revisions is how a small build quietly doubles in cost elsewhere.

If your reference leans on heavy animation or app-driven data, I’ll tell you before anything starts and quote it as custom work instead.

How this works

From reference to live, with your approval in the middle

  1. You describe what you want in plain English.

A screenshot and “like this, but with my products” is a complete brief.

  2. I figure out what actually needs to be built.

Including which parts should be settings you control versus code that just works.

  3. It’s built safely on a copy first.

On a duplicated, unpublished theme. Your live store keeps selling, untouched.

  4. You see it before it goes live.

Preview link, one revision round if you want changes, your approval, then publish.

  5. If it breaks, I fix it free.

Thirty days, no argument — and the handover note explains every setting the section has.

Describe the problem in plain English. I’ll figure out what actually needs to change, do it safely on a copy of your store first, show you before anything goes live, and fix it free if it breaks.

  • Delivered as proposed, or made right. If work misses the proposal, I fix it free — and refund anything I can't make match.

  • 30-day warranty. Defects in my delivered work, fixed free.

  • One clear proposal. The price is based on project scope and agreed before work starts.

  • Your live store stays untouched. All work on an unpublished theme copy — you preview and approve before anything goes live.

If this isn’t quite it

Beyond these tasks: I also build custom Shopify apps — my flagship work — plus integrations, redesigns, and bigger builds. See all services.

One revision round is included — and “editable in your theme editor” means you won’t need me for every text change afterward. That’s the point.
